Whistle Among The Flowers

One morning I was wandering through my garden, surrounded by the vivid colours of spring flowers and the air humming with birdsong. I spotted a Song Thrush and a Robin, their delicate forms rustling in the hedge as they pecked at some scattered birdseed I'd thrown down and it sparked my creative side.

I aimed to recreate the peaceful joy of a clear, sunny day surrounded by the graceful birds, and the radiant flowers. The bright orange of the crocuses, soft pinks of the blossoms, and rich purples blend with the clear blue sky to evoke a sense of peace and freedom on a warm spring morning.

This picture uses a mix of watercolour, pastel and coloured pencil to add depth and texture. I chose 300gsm watercolor paper in A5 size, its subtle texture enhancing the piece’s natural vibrancy.

Take a look at the picture and inspiration below, and I hope you’ll find a moment to connect with this lively scene.
